Scholar Note provides an AI-powered note-taking and study tool that runs locally in your browser. The Service includes features such as:
- Audio/video transcription using browser-based AI models
- AI-powered summarization (when connected to local LLM)
- Study tools (flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, podcasts)
- Local data storage in your browser
3. User Accounts and Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
4. Privacy and Data Storage
Scholar Note prioritizes your privacy:
- Local Storage: All notes, recordings, and processing happen locally in your browser
- No Server Upload: Your content is not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly export it
- Account Data: Only email addresses and authentication data are stored on our servers
- Third-Party AI: If you use local LLM features, data is sent to your configured local model only

5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon the rights of others
- Transmit malicious code or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service

- Local LLM models (Ollama, etc.) - configured by you
- Browser-based AI models (Whisper via Transformers.js)
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) for libraries
We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third-party services.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
AS-IS BASIS: The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
AI Accuracy: AI-generated content (transcriptions, summaries, flashcards, etc.) may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content.
Data Loss: While we strive for reliability, browser-based storage can be cleared. We recommend regularly exporting important notes.
Limitation of Liability: Scholar Note shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the Service and clearing your browser data.
10. Changes to Terms
