Is Scholar Note free to use?
Yes, the core features of Scholar Note are free to use. We believe in making powerful learning tools accessible to everyone.
Privacy & Data
Where are my notes stored?
Your notes are stored locally in your browser's storage (IndexedDB). We do not store your content on our servers. This ensures your data remains private and under your control.
Can I access my notes from other devices?
Since data is stored locally, notes do not automatically sync between devices. However, you can export your notes and import them onto another device.
Features
How does the AI transcription work?
We use WebAssembly technology to run the Whisper AI model directly in your browser. This means your audio files are processed on your computer, not sent to the cloud, ensuring speed and privacy.
Can I use Scholar Note offline?
Yes! Once the application is loaded, most features, including note-taking and viewing, work offline. AI features may require an initial download of models but can then function without an internet connection.
What file formats are supported?
We support a wide range of formats including MP3, WAV, M4A for audio; MP4, MOV for video; and PDF, TXT, MD for text documents.
